David Macfarlane developed an enduring interest in radiopharmaceutical therapy and oncologic nuclear medicine during a Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  Currently Australian Clinical Director (Theranostics) with Icon Group, in active clinical practice. Past positions include Deputy Director of Nuclear Medicine at Royal Brisbane Hospital, part time staff specialist positions at Austin Health & Gold Coast University Hospitals;. Author of over 40 peer-reviewed publications,  

He has been involved in Phase I-III clinical trials of diagnostic and therapeutic agents, and currently Chair of Australian Theranostics Research Committee, Icon Group. Practices in diagnostic Nuclear Medicine at Lumus Imaging, St Vincent's Private Northside.
